Puerto Madryn

Situated in the Northeast of the Province of Chubut, the City of Puerto Madryn was erected on the shores of Golfo Nuevo, at the foot of a 120 meters high plateau. It has a particular climate due to its geographic situation. The average annual temperature is 14 ° C, with a maximum of 35° C in the summer and a minimum of -5° C in winter. Rains are scarce both in summer and winter. According to the last Census carried out in the year 2001, a number of 57.571 people out of the total who live in Puerto Madryn are within an average age of 25 years old, and it is calculated that this number has increased during the last few years. Puerto Madryn is strategically located in an area of great touristic value and it is the biggest centre of services in the Patagonian coast and a gateway to the Valdés Peninsula, declared World Natural Heritage  by UNESCO in 1999.
